Hi guys,

I'll be moving up to Blackpool area at the end of next month to start a new job. I know there is obviously Royal Lytham, but I was wondering what else is available for me to make use of? I like to practice at the range so a good facility (grass bays, putting green, chipping area) would be great!

If there's reasonably priced links courses I could play, that would be great too! (I love a bit of links golf, especially being from a big city! haha!)

Cheers guys!

Fairhaven if you like a quality course, there are 3 members from there on here.

All 3 are rapidly improving golfers, so dont bet with any of them, especially the Scottish one.;)

I work out there 2 / 3 days a week.

Reasonably priced Links;

Fleetwood

Medium Priced Links;

St Annes Old Links

A bit higher (Linksy)

Fairhaven

Fleetwood is looked down on by some but is unpretentious, fair and enjoyable to play. Always happy to have a chop if in the area.

Played herons reach a few times when it part of the de vere group.just remember lots of out of bounds.Should be called seagull reach.

St Annes Old Links does exactly what it says on the tin. For me, easily the best course in the area (excepting Royal) for condition, all year round play and a challenge. Fairhaven good, not really a links but not really Parkland either.....sort of a linksy feel with lots of trees!! North Shore in Blackpool is in great condition at the moment and probably has some good deals on but not the prettiest of courses....known locally as "the field":D. Lytham Green Drive is nice, Fleetwood as already mentioned is a decent track but a bit of a trek if you are in the south of the fFylde. Morecambe is an hour away and there's a shed load of better courses within that radius....Preston/Blackburn/Lancaster etc.

I found Green Drive disappointing, North Shore isn't too bad, but quite exposed, I would go for Old Link or Fairhaven depending on the fees.
