Reading the Seve movie thread got my wondering does everyone have similar "heroes" in the game. Mine is Jack Nicklaus. He exemplified everything I love about the game - the drive, the quiet competition, the honesty and after reading more about him his moral compass seems very similar to my own (apart from him not eating much meat). My old mans hero is Seve and I can understand that too. Are there any others out there on the "hero" pedestal ?

Not sure about 'hero' but I am with your dad, Seve was one of the few people I would have crossed the road to chat too.

So I know Hero is a strong word and one which I've always reserved for my true heroes. I have only 2 sporting heroes - Nicklaus and Michael Jordan. Two sportsmen who, IMO, transcended the sport they played and showed character personality and drive to succeed. For me Tiger came close to being hero worthy but screwed it all up for me with his complete character self destruction in his personal life.

sorry - edited to say - IMv, being a hero is much more than succeeding at the sport.

Any pro that looks like they are having fun. Which unfortunately is not really many. Suppose Bubba is the closest.
