Pointless post but what is your take on the Pro golfers essential of arranging the golf glove in the back pocket when putting so that all the fingers hang neatly downward with perfect spacing of fingers? Is it something you're taught as a new pro? I think every last one of them that uses a glove do this.
I think for me to get my glove looking so neat would take some time, not helped by the fact it's been lying crumpled in the golf bag from the week before. :o I used to just take it off and stick it in my front pocket, the whole thing , last season I stopped taking it off alltogether as my putting seemed to be better with it on.

I don't know why the pros take so much care in making it look so neat hanging out - are they trying to dry it? You cant see any sponsors names on it so its not for that. Can't they just stick it anywhere like the rest of us or better still hand it to the caddie, they hand everything else to him anyway.

Is it really necessary to place it there so neatly?

I do it aswell (in the summer). It is just the easiest place to put the glove without like you said screwing it up. I don't see why they do it becuase they probably have another 20 in their bag anyway

It just seems to be the done thing, part of the image.

If you look at footage from the 50's and 60's, they're doing the same. Seems sort of traditional. :D

mine gets shoved in, never thought about how it looks at the back, I just leave a bit sticking out so its easy to grab!

I used to take mine off to stop my hands getting sweaty prior to putting.. to air the hand.

I also took it off as my left hand is.. sorry, WAS my smoking hand and I didn't want ciggy burns in my glove or for it to smell like an ashtray.

Now I keep it on. I have had my putter re-gripped and find I can hold it more comfortably with my glove actually on.

In the Summer I might take it off to keep my hand cool in between shots... and to get an even tan :)

You never heard of 'Golfer's Hand'?? :D :D

It's a terrible affliction whereby one of your hands is at least 15 shades different to the other. A poser is someone who actually HAS golfers hand and goes around showing everyone :p

.... avoid it at all costs :D

My glove goes on just as I'm stepping up to the first tee and won't come off again until I walk off the 18th. Unless it's raining when I will take it off between shots and pop it in my pocket to try to keep it dry.

I dont know why anyone wears a glove in the first place ?

About a year after I started playing (20yrs ago), while watching Freddie Couples win something or other, I thought 'If he can play like that without a glove, why bother ? '

Never worn one since, to me they are just an expensive item that very quickly loses its shape, and a total waste of time.

One of the best ever....

In the summer I always take it off between shots and put it in the back pocket , fingers hanging out to dry/cool it and aid in pulling it out again.

Dont really see why you would think the pros are posing by doing it :D

It's gonna either go in the front or back and the back makes more sense.

Totally agree. i stopped playing with a glove 4 years ago and found i had more control and feel of the grip. Also i found after i had taken the glove off a few times it lost its shape from the pulling of the fingers, but then again i have short stumpy fingers on bucket sized hands!! :D

ADD simple.

I take mine off and stick it in there but don't give a hoot how it looks.
Leave it on in winter ocassionally when it's cold.
If i leave it on in mild weather, my hand sweats
