Hi Everyone

Just posting this thread for the interest of abled bodied and disabled golfers.

A while back now i started to get involved in playing golf, however i am disabled (Paralysed from waist down)

At first i found it hard to get started playing the game because of lack information available until i contacted a few disabled golf organisations (handigolf foundation) to help me get playing, and now i cant get enough of the sport. im down the range a good 3 times a week sometimes more.

The only downside to me playing is i cant get on a course with a chair until at least mid spring because of the pressure on the grass, unlessd i go to spain or something which could work out really expensive in the long run.

So i decided to do some research on equipment and i have found a brilliant chair to use on the course and on the range.

Check out the site and watch the video when the site loads.

www.parabasetec.com

The company that makes theese chairs is holding an event in spain in april (which i will be going to) and i get to try theese bad boys out.

Which comes to the end of my thread and the point of it.

What i would like to do is find a few sponsors to help get disabled golf an established event worldwide and particually in my area i live in, as there is no sport for us disabled young people. Which is a shame really.

If anyone has any interest in this drop me a line back and id be happy to tell you more of my plans and ideas.

Thanks
Graham

Just messing, good luck with looking. I heard medwayjon has a bob or two ;)

That is some chair and some goal you have your sights set on (sponsors for world-wide event). Suspect you are going to need some big corporates on your side to do that but wish you well in your venture.

i am currently working with my local golf pro to apply to the ryder cup foundation.

Apparantly they help fund projects like the ones i am hoping to get going

I think this chair is amazing but the frustrating thing you will probably find is that they have priced their customer base out of the market by asking silly amounts of money in return for some independance for the user.

They are charging £12,000(€19,000) for this and that seems excessive.

I wish you every success Graham and PLEASE keep us posted

After speaking with the sole inventor of the chair the reason they are so expensive is that they aren't built in bulk yet.

but maybe soon they will be.
