Do you guys do anything specific for golf? Do you do anything at all or is golf your exercise?

I get up at 5:30am for work and get home around 6:30pm..... I have a 7 month old son and dont feel like I have time to exercise. But starting next week I'm going to try and fit in 3 mid week sessions of 30 minutes each..... basically I'm going to do half of each p90x resistance sessions.

Thoughts and comments welcome.

I do some stretching as part of my warm up before I go out and play in comps (rocking up and going up in bounce games) but not an exercise fan and would rather be working on my game than my physique. Too late to worry about that

I cycle about 18 to 20 miles every other day, run 10k once a week and swim once a week though id like to swim and run more.
Im also starting football again once a week beginning next week.
Roughly a hour a day is spent keeping the ticker going a bit faster which I dont think is too excessive.

Do martial arts 4 times a week with fitness and stretching as part of it. Also just started the Insanity fitness programme and have always done 3 gym sessions in top of the martial arts anyway.

Buying myself a new road bike at end of the month as a birthday present to myself so will look to get out on that 4 mornings a week before work.

I love exercising probably more than my golf as it gives me a sense of freedom and relieves all tension that builds up through course of a day.

I did go through a golf related fitness programme but as I was already athletically built from 10 years of gym work it didn't seem to benefit me so I went back to my old routine. I suppose if you currently do nothing it can only help.

I was looking at the insanity fitness thingy on sky... any good?

I go to the gym and follow the full fitness golf app for iPhone . Gives u a golf fitness workout for the gym. A lot of stretching and some weights but nothing to serious

Just googled it ---> Yikes!! maybe in a couple of weeks once I've finished my introduction to running!

they key to doing it is to do what you can manage in the best form possible....if you try and keep up with the DVD or get out of form you'll probably hurt yourself!

I actually really rate it highly, I did it first time last year and in habit of trying to make sure I follow it once a year for the full 60days.

Its hard but the key is doing as much as you can with good form and not trying to keep up with the DVD.

You do need will power to make sure you follow it and don't skip it but as long as you follow with good form then it's really good

I believe the idea is to improve efficiency, so that for the rest of the time it's actually beating slower.

Swimming is the best all-round exercise imo, though cycling boosts legs better. Non-percussive nature avoids injuries now and later.

Picking him, or his things, up and running around after him will keep you pretty fit - especially the core!

was thinking of doing it to get fitness back then maintain a level via running & cycling now I am off the cigs and booze

you'll need to do it the other way round.......but you'll soon see that

haha, it does look intense

no pain no gain though, hated circuits etc when in the army and it looks fairly similar. best way to get fit and keep fit though.
