Golf environment thinking

Do you think golf is an environmentally compatible sport? Would you be willing to play on brown grass during periods of low rain (to conserve water)? Share your thoughts..
 
water isn't the main issue, chemicals are and most courses have cut way down on these.

you could always get your club to use grey water tankers in the neighbourhood; might make some of the lies interesting though.
 
I don't think the problem would lie at the course, just take a look in the car park! How many memebers does your club have? How many drive by themselves to the club?
 
Yes, consider all the fossil fuel spent travelling to Royal St. David's or Aberdovey from Shropshire.

Who'd do something as environmentally unfriendly as that?
