Evening all, away for a few days around the 19 August, going to Shepperton in Middlesex, does anyone know of or played on any courses close to there, all replies appreciated.

Can't say I can recommend Sunbury - though cheap enough!

Ashford Manor is pretty good, if flat and just a tad snooty - in the classic Golf Club way - imo.

Laleham is also nearby - not the prettiest of entrances and a tad flat/dull, but well priced normally. Would be my recommendation. Go through Chertsey; towards Staines and it's entrance road is opposite Thorpe Park

Abbey Moor, near Addlestone - a very basic 9-holer that's a bit expensive for what it is imo, but probably closest and works for a way to fill in an hour or 2.

Foxhills - seriously overpriced for visitors, partly to keep the numbers of them down. 2 challenging courses but a bit of a lottery as to the condition at times! Probably closest decent range.

Further afield, the 'best' selection is Woking direction - Sutton Green do some deals through teeofftimes (and will match by phone) and Traditions, Pyrford and Hoebridge are there too.

They have £10 Tuesdays so it would be a cheap round. The Ladies tee off there at 9am but it's a quiet day until around 5pm when the office workers get out and head down there.

The course is not that bad. It has a new website at sunburygolfclub.co.uk which will have some course guides up later this week and my mate's just won his second straight club championship there.
