My wife and I have just bought a property in Crawley, the one on Webb Close are there any members on here from the area? I'm wanting to know about the local golf courses, which is best? I didn't get chance to visit when we went down to look at houses so just looking for some suggestions/advice

Mannings Heath and Copthorne are probably the best two in that area.

A little further gives you Royal Ashdown Forest.

There's also Ifield, but i've not played there.

Copthorne is a nice track, Ifield is nice too but VERY soggy in the winter. Cottesmore is on the way up having rid itself of crown golf. Again though it's very soggy and needs lots if investment to sort the drainage out. Chartham Park was really good last week but that's my only experience of it.

All depends on what you want from a club if you intend to be a member. Your budget also will play a big part too. Mannings Heath is lovely but it is top whack.

If you want a tough challenge then nothing better in the area than Rusper GC, cracking track!

Played Cottesmore last week (Griffin course) which is by far the best of the 2 they have. They do a mean sausage roll and chips too.

Others to try;
Mannings Heath, Wildwood, Gatton Manor, Rookwood, Copthorne all good courses...
