Hi guys as per title I'm looking for a golf club near Telford to join. Are there any members from local area that could recommend something. I am high handicapper and will be playing mainly Monday to Friday mid afternoons.

I'm at Shifnal , been there 3.5 years and very happy. Probably best part of 40 other members from Codsall too, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons are mostly quiet, with a fiddle which is fun to play in on Weds and Friday mornings.

We just move to Lawley village 2 weeks ago and was thinking of Wrekin G C but to play there 4 to 6 times a week it will be hard work to hilly. I played at the Telford G C ( Q Hotel) on wednesday but heard they struggle in a winter months with water. I was looking at Shifnal earlier on today and thinking of giving them a call it would be great to play a round with a member before making a decision.

Empty now and yup you've already highlighted some of the drawbacks of other clubs. We were shut last winter for 66 days but that was a bad one !!
