I had two hours after work before I went out and as it was a lovely evening I popped out and had 9 holes. Glorious - how lucky we golfers are to play the sport we do and in often very lovely surroundings

Played our Thursday night roll up 9 holes tonight, beautiful weather, course looking better by the day, great company and not too bad golf. Yep you're right, we've got it good!

Went out tonight for 9 holes. Got asked if I wanted to join up with 2 lads having a practice round forvthr Infantry championship at our club next month. Sun shon, cracking company and a bag full of shiny new Adams sticks that arrived today. Cracking it was

yes indeed - how lucky we are...I was all on my tod - hardly a soul about - and it was just so lovely and peaceful I just had to take a few snaps.

Looks lovely

I enjoy playing in comps and bounce games with my mates but if I'm honest, a solo round on a warm, long summer evening is my favourite kind of golf.

..and for a Brucie bonus there'e no one to witness how bad one plays :)

...and I played brilliant - my swing was smooth as honey and I was striking the ball sweet as a nut. One of these oh too rare times when I would just wander up to the ball - in the middle of the fairway of course - plonk my bag down. Quite slowly, methodically and carefully take my stance and address the ball - then woosh - off it would go up into the deep blue sky.

Same thing happened to me and then the alarm went off!

Looks like a lovely course and I'm pleased that such an oasis of calm exists in your life despite having a Tory government in charge :) :)

See it ain't so bad after all :) :)

Where is the course ? No agree there is something magical about late summer evening golf, especially when it's sunny and still, it's so quiet and you genuinely feel relaxed, perfect .

Nice sentiment OP and that's a wonderful looking course you have there. Wow. What more could you want?!

Said a similar thing to my lad the other evening when we were out - even a 9 year old could just about appreciate it ;). Half a dozen folks on the course and the sun still out late, just tremendous.

plyed a tie last night and we were the only people on the course until we got to the 18th green, that peace was shattered by 20 Americans all in matching outfits and bags headed out after playing earlier in the day with caddies. Most of them could not even find there way to the first tee with out a caddy, despite only playing hours before..... i wouldn't mind but most were apparently tee total:(

Late evening golf in summer is a fantastic opportunity to relax after a hard day's graft, and definitely an extra benefit of club membership.

We're in South West Surrey. This is my escape from an outside world that re-elected Jeremy Hunt as our MP on 60% of the vote :)

For me it is one of the main attractions of membership. I'm less than 5mins drive from the club and it was such a lovely evening I just had to pop out. It was so nice (and I was play so well) that I played more holes than I intended and was a little late for going out. But heck-a-mighty (was that Doris Day in Calamity Jane?). A golfer's gotta do what a golfer's gotta do.

Beautiful. I went up to practice on a fairly average course mid week but similarly had the place to myself and was filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity to be there. This was before and after a massive storm rolled in, and I was attacked by the Birdie of Prey. Pretty cool even if I do say so myself ;)
