We all see the fantastic adverts in the mags and on TV for the latest offerings in the stores and pro shops. How much do these ad's promises of longer, straighter, more backspin, more power & look which pro has chosen to use them photos influence you on your decision to buy?

20 years ago the average handicap for men in the USA was 16.2 since that time we have had all the imaginable changes in technology and design.. The average handicap is still 16.2. It’s not the kit, but the nit on the blunt end that counts.

Enjoy your golf.

I definitely think the lighting in store has something to do with it! Perhaps it more to do with my lack of willpower and the need to feel some new shiny stick in my hand when I walk into a pro shop or store

To me, the ads are not really for the kit, but for the shop, and that bit does not really work either. Not having a Club Pro to support I go to the cheapest one after I know roughly the right spec.

It's not the ads and their promises that do it, it's the look of the clubs in the rack that draw me to them.
Manys the time I've seen what I think are a nice set of irons, picked one up and thought "I could really muller that" and then find they are the cheapest set of sticks in the shop.
