Why is golf clothing so damn expensive? Trying to get hold of some new kit but really don't want to fork out the small fortune needed. Are there any good bargain places out there that do last year's trends for better prices etc?

when trousers are no good for work any more they get relegated to golf.

It depends on whether you're looking for a "name" or just suitable clothing. For branded clothing, last years models are invariably cheaper but if you just want a polo or trousers, there are plenty of cheap options like Primark where you can get a polo shirts, trousers and a cheap jumper to play in

I'm told it looks like I get mine out of a skip :)

My golf polo's I get from the pro at the club - expensive but serious quality and are the one luxury I afford to myself. Everything else, trews, shorts jumpers, etc - from the high street.

TK Maxx. The one near me always has some Callaway, Nike, Adidas, Sunderland or even Ralph Lauren golf shirts at Rock Bottom prices. Also use M&M Direct who always have Ping shirts at about £10

I picked up on county golf here in the forums. The bargain threat. My favourite ping jumper is from there, and they usually have great deal on trousers.
I don't have much luck with polo shirts there, but AG does have some nice sales quite often.

anywhere and everywhere. Currently waiting for a couple of bits, one from ebay one from county golf. Tend to keep an eye on most of the big golf sites and buy what I fancy if the price is decent

Mainly County Golf for me, look out for the big reductions that they have on their clearance stock every now and then. Picked up some Glenmuir polos for £2.25 recently.

For Summer trousers the Dunlop ones from Sports Direct at £16 for two pairs aren't bad.

I never understand when people say golf clothing is expensive. It's the same as anything else out there.

I am a brand guy. Rightly or wrongly. I'll happily shell out money for ralph lauren etc. If I didn't want to then there are literally hundreds of alternatives for golf. You can't be head to toe in galvin green for 100 quid but you can get stuff that clothes you just as well for much cheaper. Your choice whether you go for the brand or not.

Me, I prefer to go down the all the gear no idea philosophy. My game currently demands it with the results I'm posting each week!
