Golf Channel

Enjoy browsing in and out of the website but wouldn't want to base my viewing around it. The Sky coverage is adequate for my simple needs (especially Sarah Stirk - but that's another thread altogether)

Android box / Amazon Firestick - put Kodi on and you'll get the golf channel plus all sports channels
What is this android box you speak of? Can you run it along side a Sky box? Does it need connecting to a dish or aerial?
I used to love the Golf Channel when it was on in the UK.

It's essentially a mini-PC that runs Android. It is totally separate to Sky box and just plugs into your TV via an HDMI cable. They will then need a stable internet connection either wireless or via an Ethernet cable and you're off and running. You can then stream live television from various sources through to your TV.

It can take a little bit of getting used to and there is the added frustration of not being able to find a working source or one with good enough quality however more often then not I've been able to watch in at least 720p without buffering etc.

I've used this in the past, and it's fair to say I have felt a range of emotions using it :)

Great if you can get a good channel that's airing in HD / good SD, but quite often the stream is blurry to the point I couldn't actually see the ball. Saying that, I think the issue I had was slow internet.

Either way, I no longer use it.

Another way of getting the golf without Sky is to borrow a friend / family members' Sky Go account. Stream that live on PC / Mac, iPad, XBox...

Ah, OK. Thanks. A bit like Now TV then? I have a good internet connection. But all wifi based TV seems to be catch up based. Can you watch the Golf Channel live on it?
I only have Sky in my lounge and can't run a cable or install a TV point to other rooms to enable me to have multiroom, so I have to rely on Now TV and catch up, as wifi is the only way to go, but it would be great if I could find a way to watch live TV through wifi. I am checking out those systems that run through the house wiring, unless anyone can suggest any other way?

Road2Ruin, what add on do you use to get the golf channel? I can get live sport, sky and NBC golf, but haven't yet found the golf channel.
cheers.

Steve, I'll have to go and have a look as I must admit I don't actually watch the Golf Channel. That said I do know it's on one of the add ons as I've flicked through. I'll have a look although have you checked the usual suspects e.g. Sports Devil etc?

I tried setting this up last night after doing a bit of research.

I got Kodi installed fine on my firestick ok.

A number of posts say to use the NBC Live sports add-on for Kodi. Got it all installed but apparently you need to have an account for NBC Sports (£15 for 2 months) and be located in the states (or use a VPN Service to fool NBC).

Westy, there are plenty of sports addons that don't need either an account or VPN, sometimes just needs a little Googling. As suggested, Phoenix Sports is a decent add on. Another 3 to look for are Vdubt25, DexterTV and Operation Robocop
