My misses entered me in the singles without asking me! she saw a leaflet fall out a magazine and thought I'd be interested in it. Quite pleased really, looking forward to it.

ChrisD and myself have a pairs matchplay this week in the How Did I Do comp.

Through to round 3 after winning my latest match on Saturday against a real gent, an 11 handicapper from Whipsnade. Giving him 5 shots, managed to close it out on the 17th.......Dubai calling?

Well done! if you get there the overall experience is great! If you get to the regionals hen you would stand a good chance being lower hc as Forest of arden is set up long and generally cold and windy in march/April. 30 & 31 points won each individual regional and 27 points also got to Dubai!

if you do get to the finals you have to pay the airport duty which was £330 this year and it flies to Abu Dhabi on etihad so you have over an hour transfer, If I get there again I would book my own flights with Emrates and fly to Dubai and get a taxi as golfcare will give you the non airport duty part of the etihad flight.

Played my 2nd round away today at Brocket hall Melbourne course, really nice opponent off of same h/c as me, 1 up with one to play, had a really nervy 165 yard shot all over water, anyway managed it got up and down for a par 5 and was mightily relieved when my opponents birdie putt slipped by. Bring on the next round, the is the faintest whiff of camel dung in the air.

The 18th on that course is a brilliant hole. If you get your drive away you have to go for it in 2. Lovely course all round I thought. Well done on the win

It is a good hole, at 1 up there is no way I was trying to get there in 2, laid up WELL back from the lake and hoped my opponent didn't get home in 2.

Ah yeh good point. I was playing in a 4 ball Texas scramble. My drive left us with 190 left, we would have had to putt to lay up I think ;) 3 in the drink, one just right under that massive tree. We got up and down for birdie so abit of a result.

That water owes me far too many balls!

Birdied it a couple of times, once losing to my mate's Eagle!

Badgers still tearing up the tees and in front of them on 16?

Good luck to ArnoldArmchewer in the next round......cracking match today with Steve and he clinched it on the 2nd extra playoff hole with a huge 45 foot left to right, breaking downhill birdie putt.........well deserved.
thoroughly enjoyed it and Steve is a joy to play with........go get them camels Steve!!

Thank you Rick, you were a great host, loved your new course, at over 7000 yards it was soooo long in the wet conditions, the final putt was just lucky.
