Theres a few people at my local club who play the course everyday but always use a buggy. At £20 per round, i cant imagine they would pay every time they play.

So, how much are buggies at your club? Can you own your own buggy and what's the typical cost of one?

Similar costs on my course and there are regular users. Personally I prefer the walk and exercise but a couple of regular users have knee problems so I understand why.

Truth is they're a bit of a pain in the backside as they play quite slowly but keep catching up close behind because they insist on driving the buggy 'flat-out' down the fairways but on the occasions we've let them play through we're invariably waiting on shots while they faff about.

our place do an "annual fee" for buggies in addition to hiring them each time you play. theres a few who cant play without so it works out much cheaper for them this way (i think its approx £400 for the year)

£20 a pop at our club. Most who use it tend to do so for medical purposes but there are the odd one or two who like to use a buggy to carry their beer :D

I don't like them. Part of golf, for me, is walking the course, having a look around, considering my next shot, taking my time., Buggies just make me feel rushed.

Not a member at a club anymore but I use them for medical reasons so paying £20 quid a time is pretty annoying but I don't really have much choice.

Also means I barely play in the winter as they are usually banned at most courses I've played.

Buggies here are almost a requirement and are normally about £30 a round but can usually be had complimentary such that I use one every game but only need to pay 3-4 times a year (usually when I'm getting an inclusive green fee)

£20.00 at our place. I love to use a buggy, not because I'm lazy. I just feel so much fresher and find I invariably play better. Sadly at that price it's not cost effective so my electric cart is second option.

£20 at our place

Normally the only members that use a buggy as the ones with their own ( with some failing to take proper care when driving them ) - we have a 15 metre rule from the green where applicable and some fail to follow this rule

Recently with the addition of members from Mentmore we have an increase buggy use on the course - i have no issues with them if they are used in a selfless manner - it appears that is lacking at the moment

With all the talks about how to improve slow play, does anyone think an increased use of buggies would help speed things up a little? I've always found my rounds a lot quicker now I use them compared to when I walked.

Some of the courses up here, Alnmough GC (Foxton) is certainly one, do a deal for members where it works out about £6-£10 per time. The idea is to keep older members playing for longer. There may be a restriction on who gets this offer, senior members only perhaps, but that shared between two is nothing and well worth it. Seems a good idea. (there may be a member on here who can confirm the exact numbers but I know it is pretty good)

My club charges £20 for visitors and £10 for members. That is a good deal in my eyes. It is a long course and worth treating yourself every so often.

My dad struggles to walk 9 holes these days but plays 4 mornings a week (9 holes) using a buggy. His course have a "buggy club" where I think he pays around 230 quid a year for unlimited use (5 day member) subject to availability.

We have a small selection of buggies for members or gues'st to hire, think it's somewhere aorund £20. As far as members using their own, medical proof is required as is proof of insurance for third party liability at the least.
