I know this is a stick your finger in the air, pick a number and then double it kind of request, but...

The opportunity for a foreign golf break has become a possibility.

Thus far I have done nothing but what is a ball park figure that I should be looking at. I know there are a million variations but for example what sort of cost would three days in Portugal cost?

Sorry, impossible to answer.
flying or driving?
Hotel or B and B
Posh courses or goat tracks
How many going?
buggies?
Beer
etc etc etc

Say £50 e/w for flights, £35 for clubs, perhaps £40 per round if you are not too fussy about courses. Accomodation for 3 nights maybe £30 a night if sharing etc.

You really are going to have to do some research to get a proper idea but say no change out of £350 plus spends minimum I'd say.

Cheers guys, daftest question in the history of GM I would think!!

Just wanted a general idea so I new what to suggest as a possible budget and then go from there.

Bob:

flying or driving? Flying
Hotel or B and B no preference
Posh courses or goat tracks all high handicapers so closer to the latter
How many going? probably 4
buggies? no preference
Beer erm, der!

Well young Sir, you better add another £100 to the total for the cost of the courage at the airports!

Yep.
I always have to have a drop of Dutch courage before I step on a 'plane. Don't like flying.
Waiting at Gatwick one evening for a flight out to Kos I went to the bar and asked for a pint of lager.
"Sorry Sir, draught is off. I have bottled beer"
"Cushty. I'll have two bottles of Budweiser" says I.
"Certainly Sir. Here you go. That will be £6.00 please"
"Six pounds? Six fecking pounds????????? You're having a fecking giraffe aren't you????"

the idea behind going abroad is to try and get over my fear of flying!

Flying's ok, it's the crashing I'm not keen on.
I can't pinpoint anyone thing, looked into going to Lapland this Christmas, but as soon as she started talking about flights I started to crap myself. Was really keen to do it for my five year old. just couldn't!

So Euro Disney on the train instead!!

My wife has't dare book a flight since I didn't get on the lpance that was supposed to be taking us on honeymoon!!!

Some clubs around here are almost 5 quid a bottle

Bigger knob you for going to 'em then!!

I remember the first time I was charged £ a pint. In a nightclub in Tunbridge Wells. I nearly fainted and almost tripped over my Lionels.

not saying i approve. I remember someone in my group saying on thursday that he thinks our local golf club is £3.70 for a pint of that black stuff from ireland...
