Is it really worth it?

I'm after a Nike Covert Fairway wood and a Hybrid. The second hand ones on there with ratings of around 8/10 are only £20 cheaper than the new ones. Not worth it in my view.

Any thoughts?

Makes me wonder how these sites actually make any money then.

I can go to my local range and pick up a set for probably less than what I can get at American Golf, well I actually did, plus they threw in 12 balls too.

Bit of a Nike fan matey. How are you getting on with them all. Never been Nike's biggest fan but the last set of bladed irons they did were lovely.

Well I've been a Nike fan for all their gear, and it just felt natural for me to try them first as my actual first set of new clubs. Previously been using my Dad's hand me downs. I once had a Lee Trevino putter! :)

I'm liking them, apart from the confidence they give me, they feel nice. Still getting to grips with the driver on the range, but I think that's more to do with me sorting my erratic swing out. :)

Once I get in the groove on the range I get some pretty good results, and I absolutely love the 9 Iron.

Good stuff. Do not get to hung up on hitting the Driver well yet, I have been playing years now and play off 8 but still cannot hit the damn thing consistently, on good days it is either a gentle draw shape or arrow straight but when it is off it is massive blocks to the right. Have you had any lessons or got your swing on film?

I'm going to get some lessons next week when I get paid.

I've not filmed my swing yet, not sure how I can set it up. I have the Nike 360 app (obviously :) ), but can't figure out how I can setup my iPhone to film it. Probably need some kind of tripod.

Yes get a few lessons to get the basics covered so bad habits do not get to set in. I have heard of bag clips/stands for phones and cameras so may be worth a look, just attach it to your stand bag and put your phone/camera on it and your good to go, cannot remember where I heard about them though. For recording golf swings though the Casio cameras are the dogs, the ones with HS options and manual shutter speed setting are unreal 240 fps clear as you like.

My iPhone has a pretty awesome camera. I may try tomorrow. It won't look too good I don't think, ha ha, maybe that's why I'm reluctant. When I hit it sweet I feel like Tiger. :)

It will shock you when you see your swing on camera for the first time. I thought I was swinging it o.k but when I saw it on film it was awful. Get it recorded sooner rather than later there is no shame in it!!

Indeed! I had the same experience! And recently!

Much worse than hearing your own voice!

There 8/10 would be 9.5 in other places they do tend to mark down rather than up.

With the prices of clubs being put on offer at the end of the season before new launches then you do tend to get the scenario you have found. At the end of the day it's a free market and the choice is yours you maybe able to pay the extra £20 others maybe can't.

Have fun film your swing and be prepared for shock. Also over lay tigers swing on yours an be quite fun too.:)

May do it tomorrow. Did a weights workout last night, and having hit 550 balls the week before, I'm not feeling too loose. :)
