Anyone do it regularly?

The reason I ask is, in work we get the Metro newspaper and there's a tipster in there who, for what I've noticed is pretty good as recently I've kept an eye out for his tips. Well anyway I've followed his tips for this weeks PGA event. Haas, Laird and Howell III on each way bets. So off I went to the virtual bookies on my phone and put up the cash... Shame I didn't click ew as I've now got them to win :p

I tend to get involved most weeks. Pretty predictable the 3 names above, all have some combination of course form and recent form (or in Haas case is a good early season player) but all are pretty competitively priced.

Only small bet Ive had this week is Chris Kirk, likely I will get more involved after a round or 2.

One point with Haas, Im slightly loathe to back him this yr after he won the Fedex last yr after the effect winning it had on Furyk the year before. I think the prize is that big it may have a "hangover effect", will wait for him to show thats hes competitive before backing him

I normally have a Punt most weeks, but only bet on Betfair, where if any of my players ha a good round, or in contention, u can lay part/or all of it off again.
I use the 'horses for courses' form guide, previous course/comp form
And form from the latest tour events
Im becoming increasingly bored with US PGA golf, same old, same old, so near the end of 2011 found myself leaving it alone and concentrate on European Tour events
Ive NO bet this week though

The Tipster in Racing Post is pretty good

Brian Gay for me this week. The three courses are not the hardest so it will come dowwn to an accurate player with good putting. He fits the bill for me and he has done okay there in the past

I bet on anything but do like a bet on the golf.

This week I've done Vaughan Taylor ew @ 100/1.

I usually wait til the cut has been made then pile in again.

Don't do it regularly but I might have a nibble if I have a few quid knocking around now HID has been taken on permanently. I prefer the European tour though and backing players I might actually have seen or vaguely care about

Only small bet Ive had this week is Chris Kirk, likely I will get more involved after a round or 2.

Good to see Kirk shoot 63 in round 2, 3 back and gives me a position to trade from at worst. will be looking to add 1 or 2 of those from the groups on 10-12 under before round 3

I normally bet £10 or 20 on each of the majors.

Done ok so far, definetley up

The only thing i'm unsure of when its the best time to put a bet on.

I'm wavering towards after the cut, you can get good odds for players who are still in conention,
don't seem to gain that much by betting pre tournament

I have a punt on it most weeks, steve palmer is one of the top golf tipsters, hes got a column in the racing post every wednesday, covering european and US.

Yeah it was pointed out early about the sporting post, will pick a copy up on Wednesday and see what he has to say.

It's certainly looking like my picks won't be anywhere near where I'd hoped they'd be :(
