I use AD333 and nothing else (unless on the range)and I find them great. I used to use Callaway Warbirds, they dropped my score from 90s to 80s with the extra distance but I felt my short game suffered and now I get the distance with the AD333 and the feel around the greens.

Srixon have a custom fit ball thingy on their site which is pretty cool.

Last year I tried and liked the TM Red balls.I've found them good off the tee, good with the middle irons and especially good around the greens. I've still got 2doz of last years model left so will start the season using them again. I bought in bulk late last summer because there was a great deal on, at £23 a doz, obviously they were to be superceeded. Hopefully this years model will perform as well.

Tried ProVs in the past and they are good, but the ball I liked best ceased a few years ago, the Maxfi Tour Red Dot. It was a great ball to use. Soft to pitch with and putt with. Why do they always change things just when we get used to them?

I do think the ball I use makes a difference to my putting and my short game and that's the area I can score best with.

I use prov1 in the warmer weather & nxt tour in the winter.

I tried the t made tp red last year (hence my user name)
i got on well with them but found it hard to break the habit of my tried and trusted titleists.
I now 5 boxes of tp reds on my shelf gathering dust.

Exactly and as recently discussed with certain club manufacturers. Marketting. Re-brand a product with/without a miniscule change, tell the world that it is the best thing since sliced bread, get the pros on tour to endorse it, and happily take the money.

btw. The last time I bought new balls was about 5 years ago. Won/given a few new ones at society/charity/corporate days but mostly survive on pickups whilst looking for mine off fairway. Usually find more than I loose. Out of preference will use Titelist Prov1's or NXT but in current conditions will use most reasonable quality balls - I do however draw the line at Molitor!

I use Srixon Trispeed, but based on the excellent comments on this forum I'm going to switch to Titleist NXT Tour once they run out

I like Taylor Made TP Black. Used Srixon Z-urs for a year and found the ball just chewed up.

Cant really beat the Pro V1x either.

Still to try the Nike One Platinum to see how it compares.

I have no ball loyalty and will use what I get the best deal on as long as its a decent premium ball. That said the Srixon Soft Feel is a ball I rate higher than its premium stablemate, the forementioned Z-urs.

I have a few types that I will use depending what is on offer. Tend to come back to Wilson DX2 Soft, Srixon AD333 or Inesis TD Tours. Was bought a box of PTS Solo and a box of NXT Extreme and would be happy to use them as well if the price were right.

I use nxt tours because they're cheaper than prov v1x. still they are an excellent ball. I may change to a prov1x if i feel the need to one day.

the cheaper rock hard balls that dont spin are actually no good for me any more, i need spin so im getting it.

Ive heard good things about the srixon trispeed and my local independent golf shop has got them on offer at the moment for £17 a doz so was going to give them a dry. How do you find them?

I prefer to use ProV1 and when I do,it gives me extra confidence. Changing from rocks to quality balls helped bring my handicap down.

They're a bit softer than the AD333, nice feel with the putter and round the wedges. They're 3 piece so you can get a nice bit of check when pitching in.

Distance wise they're excellent. I hadn't really noticed how good till the other week, I was playing with a different ball (can't remember which type) and driving the same distance as my playing partners who I'm usually longer than.
Lost my ball, went back to the Trispeed and voila, 10 yards further!

Definitely worth a punt for £17. I think the established reputation of the AD333 is the only reason they're not selling as well. The Trispeed is a superior ball for roughly the same money!

I also have to big up the TP Reds. They give me a great ball flight from the tee and they feel nice from my irons. If you're looking to get rid of your excess balls Tpred, drop me a PM and we'll talk about it.

What about lake balls? is this some sort of scam or are they worth a punt?seemingly puts premium balls into the price range of rocks.

Even Argos seems to sell a fair selection included the much vaunted NTX ball.

There's a catch right?

I have been flitting between Pro VI, Callaway HX Tour/Warbird, Hogan Tour Deep and Taylor Made Black but after reading a few good write ups am currently using the Titleist NXT Tour which I'm liking for price as well as performance. Will probably use them and the Hogans this season. Apart from the Warbird I like the feel I get with the others around the green with my chip ons and putting. I don't really notice much difference with the driver with the ball.

I'm trying to standardise a few things in my game with a view to gaining consistency; sad to relate largely with little success.
So, current ball of choice is the Warbird, these I am planning to take with me to Spain. Now I know that they will be a b****r to stop on harder greens but I like to think I'm getting to know them (probably vanity). They do encourage trying alternatives to the blind-bombing approach.
My alternative balls, I have never seen mentioned in these illustrious pages. Wilson Deep Red's - bought when on offer at a price I couldn't resist. They seem to cut up quite easily and take spin too readily for my current standard of play - ah but when I do get it right (all too rarely) they can be a wonder to behold.
