golf ball numbers 1,2,3 and 4

It's to help the average hacker know when it's time to buy another dozen.

When I start pulling 3's out the sleeve, I know i'm probably 2 rounds away from needing more.

I reckon I can count the rounds where i haven't lost a ball, on one hand. All those who give it "Yeah, this one served me well for two rounds, i'll just keep it as a practise ball now" are just flash gits! :D

I assume it is because the most you can have on one tee is four players so just in case everyone is playing the same ball each can play a different number.

That's the idea behind it. But it really annoys me when you are playing a twoball, I pull out a number 1 and the guy I'm playing pulls out a number 3 or 4.
That confuses the hell out of me

What's the weather like in your world

Justin uses 99, everyone but everyone at mine uses a prov1, they use every colour pen to make it different but you can play the wrong ball out the rough easily.
I'd love some high numbers but prob just need to write them on myself.

I've a couple of boxes of 6-5-8 pro V I'm using. I have no idea why the majority are numbered 1-4 but I've no superstition attached to any number on my golf balls as each are just as capable of disappearing as the next (except yesterday where I didn't lose or look like losing a ball)

It winds me up a bit that each sleeve has 3 balls with the same number so when you hit a provisional you either have to mark it different or use another ball to be sure you can tell them apart if you hit into the same area. Picky I know but I can't see why they can't be packaged with say a 1, 2 and 3 in each sleeve.
