Hi all,

My name is Olivier de Géa, I'm a french artist. I
use a peculiar technique as I'm painting with rust on sheet metal. I'm currently doing a series on Golf and thought you may be interested in seeing it and give me your comments. I do art to share with people...

Hope you like it,

Very clever

Is it all rust, or just the rust coloured parts?

How do you prevent other parts going rusty that you don't want to?

Thanks,
It is real rust indeed, not just paint with rusty color.
Well, I'm not going to disclose my little secrets yet :p but the oxidation process is stabilised once I'm happy with it so, the rest of the metal won't be rusted in time (I don't have 100 years of feedback though!!)

Sorry, I didn't explain very well.

What I meant was, is everything in the pictures rust, or just the bits that look like rust?

Some parts look like pencil sketches and I wondered if they were rust too?
For example, the golfer in the third picture looks grey like pencil would look. Have you done something to colour the rust, or is it actually pencil (or something else)?

Oh yes!
In fact all that looks rusty (Brown...) is real rust. The white parts are made of acrylics paint and some times some of it is worked with pencil to create light and shadows.... So you're right, it's a mixe of rust AND pencil drawing. This one of the particularity of my work!
