Golf around Heathrow

Hi all

I've got a few days in the heathrow area next week. Does anyone recommend any courses in the area, relatively close not to much travel as won't have a vehicle. Or if there is anyone near the area who would like to meet up for a round would be great.

Heathrow in itself is a fairly sizable beast. How are you planning on getting to these clubs? Taxi or bus / public transport? If you're fairly flexible and likely to get a cab I can recommend Richings Park, nr Iver, which is actually just outside the M25 down the M4, junction 5 I think. 1st five holes are fairly forgettable, but the last few are great. Also Ashford Manor is pretty good. Those are the only 2 I have played though!

Stockley Pines is very close but not played there for a few quite a years so can not comment on what the course is like now.

Stockley Pines is an absolute dog-track these days. Totally ruined from what it was in the late 1990s. Don't even waste your money on going near the place - it's in appalling condition.

Yeah I have played there before last summer and it was terrible, we thought it was a steal when the guy only charged us £10 for 18. Got on the course and realised why it was so cheap, not looked after enough which is a shame really as I'd imagine if someone had the finances it could be a really nice course.

It capped it off when we got to the 16th/17th and found a lump of dog excrament on the green!
