I confess to being a bit of a phone luddite and only just changed to a "smart" phone. So far I have managed to get my contacts on there (in duplicate!) and learn how to text and make calls

So - my question is what FREE golf apps are of use ??

Most of the ones I've listed are free. even the swing analysis one has a free "lite" version that does a perfectly good job.

Depending on what operating system you are on, you should be able to search for free apps rather than paid for... you can on Android market at least, don't know about Apple.

hope that helps.

Ta very muchly and may just get some smart use out of this phone at last! I am on android (know that much at least!!) so will have a look-see!

Golfcard pro for keeping scores, PGAtour, GolfChannel, Rules of Golf(R&A), Had Eurotour but it always crashed, and Lets golf game.:fore:

PGA tour app is good, a far better app than the European tour app.

Other than that I have golfshot GPS, the golf now app for golfing in Orlando when I go and the ping Iputter app that Ive never used as I wont shell out for the cradle.

If you are on Android then freecaddie is good and will cost nothing from the Android market. Will give you a very basic GPS for your course. Or for £5 you can upgrade it to the Freecaddie pro. No more fees will ever have to be paid on top of that and all the updates are free for it. Got a lot of features on it. If used in map mode it will show you the hole you are on and distances to all features on that hole. It gives distance to front middle and back of green. When you are going round you can even put your own markers down for the course so next time you play the hole if there is a feature on the hole that you want a distance to it is on there for you already without having to ask for the distance to it. When you compare it to the GPS systems out there it is very cheap as they cost £100 upwards and you have to pay a subscription every year as well with most of them. Compared it to my mates Skycaddie and the distances are the same and it has better functions and easier to use.

Have just downloaded this myself.

I clicked the camera icon in the top right of screen, then import and it took me straight to the videos on the phone where I could select one and am about to trim it down.

Thing is, I know nothing about apple stuff, and am using an iPad.

If I take some footage on a digital camcorder, how do I get it on my iPad, where do I store it, and how do I get it into the v1 software?

Baffled?
