Golf and Spa weekend breaks

Me and a mate want to go away for the weekend to play some quality golf courses and thought to stop all the moaning we would take the women with us so they could have a pamper weekend in the spa. Can anyone recommend anywhere within a 2 hour drive of London that offers quality golf with a quality spa and hotel to shut the women up?!

Could you not try and get in on the GM event on 18/19 August at the Belfry? Its midweek but you get to play a GM meet and the ladies can use the facilities

we did a top 50 places to stay and play in the November issue last year
if you don't have that to hand for ideas I can thoroughly recommend Bowood in Wiltshire (http://www.bowood-golf.co.uk - just down the M4 past Swindon).
They have just opened a very nice hotel/spa and I really rate the course (nice 3 hole academy course and great practice facilities too)
I went with Mrs H about a month ago and we were both impressed with hotel/food/spa etc

Barnham Broom near Norwich is excellent. Two good courses, nice hotel, spa, pool etc. and very reasonable.

Depends how much you want to spend, but I've been here with the lady a couple of times and she loved it....
