Just got my automatic gokart (18 hole battery) as was wondering if a new battery would get me round 36 holes. Got a big 36 hole comp soon and i dont want to find out on the 27 that it cant.

Brand new I would say yes - just about 6-12 months old then no

Have a similar dilemma as our place soon and i'm not sure what to do, I was thinking a quick top up may be the answer but i'm sure a lot of others will think the same.

Not sure what to do

Can't you take your charger with you for a quick top up between rounds?
If its like last year it was pretty much back to back. The battery care instructions also say "never short charge, always 8 hour minimum' are they just covering their behinds?

It depends how hilly the course is. I've done 36 holes on an 18 hole battery but my course is pretty flat. It's a few years old now and it still got round Woburn last year for the GM meet.

I was thinking as mine is the auto I can easily try to be quite frugal with the battery, but there would be nothing worse than getting through 27 and the battery starting to die

Pretty flat homer. Think i might try and free wheel it for the first 4 or 5 holes while im fresh and make sure i have some juice for when im knackered

I did find that by turning it off and just pushing it down the fairway (I've an auto) it helps my peace of mind that it'll make all 36. Of course if you spray it and have to walk miles extra then you could be in trouble

I've managed 36 holes by doing this too, although my place isn't flat, so it was pretty slow towards the end.

I think topping it up for 30 mins would be okay; I believe they mean don't continuously do it.

Carry in the morning. Trolley in the afternoon when you are more tired.

Good compromise Stevie... looks like your lowest ever H/Cap :whoo:
My 1 year old GK lithium has twice recently, got me round 36 holes without top up or freewheeling.... & I sport a very heavy bag.... evrything but the kitchen sink... or Bar-B-Q

Our course is pretty flat but my 18 hole battery has done 54 holes on one charge. I regularly do 36 holes on one charge with no problem. No need for freewheeling.
