I got my GoKart out of the boot today only to find it has died.

When I got home I had a look at it the battery is fine but the trolley is just lifeless.

The simple solution is to get it repaired and serviced for £99 by GoKart.

My only issue with this is that the on-going running costs of and electric trolley are getting a little steep in my opinion, I have in two years including this have had a service, new battery and charger.

So do I get the GoKart serviced and keep with it or replace it with a relativity maintenance free push trolley i.e. Clicgear 3.5 or a Stewart R1

What would you do, as I really don't know what to do.

I think it depends on the course you play...
If you need an electric as the course is hilly then it makes sense to go with the Kart..
But if you play a fairly flat course then a pusher may be sufficient.
I have the PK He online 4 and is perfect for me...

I went with the push trolley option as a could not be bothered with the hassle and (potential) worry about ongoing costs.

I also have a dickey back, hence being unable to carry.

Cant recommend the clicgear highly enough (i own a 3 year old version 2.0) and it is absolutely bombproof.

Though as Imurg states above, if you play a hilly course then perhaps electric is still the best option. My place is reasonably hilly, but there are only two holes were i will be blowing a little (the 9th and 12th) so not really worth paying the huge premiums for a lecky one

I'd speak to GoKart and see what they say as I've always found them most helpful.

I agree with this ^

I'm sure if you speak with them they will not be happy that you've had these problems over only a 2 year period and will quickly resolve them.

They really are very helpful and do care about their customers!

I don't believe you have to pay the full service cost for each and every repair, do you?

I would have expected GoKart to charge you the repair costs only, if they amount to less than £99.

buy a new one with extended warranty:thup:

They only have a few people in their office and if you ask for Sandy she as good as gold and will speak to you. I find the other staff very helpful anyway and their reputation is built as much as anything on their after sales service. I'd be surprised if you have any problems with them

As above, GoKart customer service is second to none, believe me I have used them, they picked mine up, loaned me a Gokart whilst mine was away and when mine was serviced they picked theres up after dropping mine off. When it came back from the service it was 90% new, in fact I had to look really hard to make sure it was mine they sent back. Oh, and it came with a two year warranty starting from the service date. It doesn't come any better than that.

Ditto. GK customer service is excellent.

I shouldn't think you have a major failure (motor) being only 2 years. Probably a switch, battery terminal or most likely a break in the wire from the switch to the motor.
