Went over the range on my way home from work tonight after a good session over the range on Monday night.

I got 50 balls and told my self to take an hour to hit them.

I hit the first 30 really well in just over half an hour, sure i hit a couple of loose shots but nothing that would have been hole wreckers on the course.

The next 20 balls i hit in about 10 minutes and was pretty awfull..... it wasn't till i finished that i realised how quick i had been on second half of practise.

Heres hoping it was just me rushing!

You should take a break after the first 30 if youre serious about getting some proper practice in, otherwise 2nd lot will always be a waste of time.

I have just done a similar thing. Hit some lovely shots on monday when I took my time but rushed a bit tonight because it was raining and was happy with about 1 shot in 3.

it must be catching. warming up for my lesson last night I could hardly hit a bad shot and that with everything from a 3i down.

after the lesson - a bit mixed, probably through thinking too much instead of doing

today - should have stayed in bed.

Have just got back from a session at the local range (was going to the practice ground at my club but a heavy downpour put paid to that).

They do a happy hour deal whereby you get 120 balls instead of 60. I normally give myself at least 90 minutes to hit those so I can go through my pre shot routine every time and really work on what I am doing.

I used my new proliner alignment aid as well and don't know whether it was that or the fact that I am working on keeping my lower body quiet and taking the club away wider (instead of coming inside too early) but I have to say after 20 or so poor ones where I hadn't got into a rhythm I absolutely nailed them tonight.

The majority flew right out of the middle of the club and although a number were left of target (big draw bordering on a hook) the strike was great. Given my play lately I'm happy to work on the strike first and sor the direction out later.

One happy camper tonight!!!!!

makes you wonder why we bother doesn't it!

Freduk, I usually only get 30 balls but the range i went to today was a minimum of 50.

I'm going to just play a few holes tomorrow night as I feel that would better for me at the moment. Going to play without any swing thought what so ever. I think that'll help at the moment as I'm thinking so much on the range, it'll be a good chance to see if the muscle memory has worked.

Where I go, getting 60 is much better value than getting 30 balls and having Yorkshire blood makes me go for the 60 where in actual fact the first 30 always go best so good or bad may be 30 is a better number to stick to, or as I said earlier have a bit of a break.

I always have a bit of a problem in that I always hit quite a few out of the driving range which is a bit bad as the 8th backs on to driving range.

A range local to me has a 9 hole pitch & putt round the outside, but the range isn't the longest, and there is a sign up which reads "please do not use drivers when there are people on the par 3 course"
Perhaps it should be called a 5 wood range?

My local range states "NO drivers on the range"....so I have to get my chauffeur to take me.

I went on the tube once....there was a notice "Dogs must be carried".....so I went and bought a dog.
