Might be the most annoying advert in the world but it just saved me £156.55 on my annual car insurance.

Renewal came in at £387.63. Go Compare have produced a nice wee number from Privilege of £231.08.

That's West Lancs and Silloth trips paid for. Love a wee bargain to start a New Year. ( renewal not due till 5th January)

:whoo::clap::whoo:

I've used it myself on a couple of occasions with success.

It only shows companies that are subscribed to them so its not gospel but is a good key indicator in showing you your paying too much for something in the first place.

What sort of motor is that on Craw? That is really really cheap, even the renewal is cheap!

Do you think so? Not wanting to start a "My Insurance Is Cheaper Than Yours" thread, I never accept a renewal quote but always contact the current insurers direct and they discount it. I've never had any success from Comparison websites. (Currently paying £196 fully comp for my BMW 330 Sport)

It's a lot to do with the postcode as well. I was nearly £500 pa for a jeep worth £2500...........go figure. ( no accidents or claims in over 30 years)
A lot of the time they just renew at a high cost and gamble on you not taking the time and hassle of shopping around.

clive mate your 74 though!!!

(guess i won't be invited back to blairgowrie!)

Tend to visit the comparison sites to see whats available before re-newing with my local High St. broker who either matches or beats the on-line quotes... Far sooner deal with a local office, even if it was a bit dearer... As when it goes wrong far easier to deal with a 'face' rather than a 'voice' from afar!

I agree, I never accept the renewal.
But even so £387 is cheap insurance, nvm for a 4x4. My father pays over £400 for a his runabout corsa. His beemer is £700 a year. Thats with 10+ years NCB and zero points on his licence.

Does scotland tend to be cheaper for the insurance? I thought it was bad for car thefts?

Car jackings at gun point every minute of the day in the wild untamed savage north lands! Some times i'm scared to stop at lights incase someone tried to nick my hub caps!

My question was not a jibe btw, just curious..........

(I don't sign up for the england vs scotland malarkey that goes on.)

Hi Lump

In my area of Aberdeen the police have a column in the local community publication and it either starts with or ends with ..." we realise that there is a low incidence of crime in the area but be vigilant and lock your garage and car doors just in case" .. they use the seasons to update it - "with Christmas coming and presents being possible targets" .. "with the holiday season here and houses being empty for a period" etc.

Now how cool is that!!

Car thefts?? High insurance premiums?? My Alfa and my golf each cost under £300 pa.

No crime and cheap, wonderful golf in God's own country, with the best golfing company you can find anywhere!!

Content? You bet I am!!
