GM Volvo matchplay singles last night.

Played in Volvo match play singles match last night I was entered for by the mag, so am now though to the 3rd round.

I won 8 & 7 against a 23 handicapper from Huntly, had to give him 14 shots!

I was going to wait until I hot knocked out and tell the tale but since you've posted I'll make a mention.

Played last week, received 7 shots and went 2 up after 3. By 12 I was 1 down and back level by 13. We stayed level thru 18 and I managed to win the first play off hole.
Now have home draw in next round.

Patrick, if you played him at Huntly you would have found it a pitch and putt course in comparison to Nairn or if he was visiting Nairn, the length would maybe not have been to his liking.

We played at Nairn, it was a beautiful evening, no wind at all and warm and sunny. You are probably right about the length, though Nairn is not a long course by any means. We halved the first couple of holes by virtue of him getting shots on all but 4. Once we got to the 3rd he only just made the fairway and I was at least 100 yards further and only had wedge in for birdie and 4th where he wasn’t stroking his game fell apart though he did win the hole at 6 with a shot.

I’m down for a home draw in the next round too.
