GM subscrition !!!!!!!!!

Okay, so my first year as a subscriber has expired and I am happy to renew BUT I am being asked to fork out £41.60 for a years magazines with a special Ryder Cup issue thrown in but when I click on those damn subscrition pop ups I find the following:


Direct debit 6 monthly was £26.00 now save 32% and pay £17.49 !!

This equates to £34.98 for 12 months .... and even if you add £4.00 for the extra issue I am still saving on my quote.


Are subscribers being taken for granted or am I just being a tight ass Scotsman?

Is there a freeebie involved? Don't forget - you get nothing for free.
I got mine with Tesco clubcard vouchers and it only cost me £12.50 or thereabouts.

Like most things once you're 'in' then most people will not look for substitute and keep paying (home / car / etc insurance for example). It would be nice to get a discount for loyalty wouldn't it?

this is the main reason i cancelled my GM subscription... i'll re-subscribe somewhere down the line and bag the free gift again. If that doesn't happen, then i'll go to one of the other mags and keep up to date with GM on here.

i blindly renewed mine via DD. Did think it was pricey when it hit the bank, done now so i am in for another year at least.

Cancel your subscription then set up a new one. Simples.

I've had a similar issue with a computing mag, DD subscription was rising and to be honest I wasn't even reading the mag anymore. So, I cancelled.

Few weeks down the line I get a call offering me a twelve month subscription for £12 - only £1 per issue!!

They were well confused when I turned it down
