I've read it a few times- still not getting it. I didnt want to post but IPC arent replying to my email.

I got an email saying subscribe to Golf Monthly for £14.90 limited offer for a few days, top offer etc
sounds to good to be true from IPC, so I follow the link and its £14.90 every 6mths direct debit only and is their top offer, yet is the same as the 'ordinary' offer of £29.80 for a year which you can pay 5 different ways.

Now £29.80 is still a cracking offer and will be jumped at for the #1 Golf mag in the UK

Is this just clever marketing wording and I'm reading or misunderstanding it correctly? or is it very simple.............like me:rolleyes:

Perhaps you're misreading?

The 'full price' is £59.60. If you hit the 'subscribe' tab on the very right of the menu bar, you'll see that the standard offer is £44.99 and the 'full price' still displayed approximately 100% more than the offer price your talking about (£29.80).

So no, there's no trick (unless I've missed this price you talk about somewhere).

What isn't stipulated in the t&c's of the 50% offer is that its not in conjunction with any other offer so would assume that you'd still get the free srixon's.....unless they suddenly get edited :-).

Mods, can you confirm that a new subscriber, using the '50% off this week only' offer, would also get the dozen balls?

As for as I am aware you do not get the golf balls at that rate. I lapsed my subscription last year but have resubscribed at the £29 rate. I already subscribe to Golf World and Todays Golfer, but I thought what the hell, I can now read about the latest TM driver every 3 months 3 different times. I'm not expecting the golf balls as I thought you had to pay the £44.00 rate for that.

With regards to the OPs point then yes it is a bit cheeky advertising a subscription for a certain amount as you naturally assume it is for the whole year. But it's not. But then again I've seen a lot of this recently with mags advertising low rates that once you go deeper turn out to be not for a year.

Best deal I get is the people that publish Empire, Todays Golfer etc etc as they sometimes do 3 issues for a quid. You have to set up a DD for each mag you subscribe to, but you then just cancel it after the quid has come out and hey presto. They rely on people forgetting to cancel the DD I think, or liking the mags so much they continue the subscription at full price. I got 3 issues of about 7 mags (Empire, Q, Mojo, FHM, some car one and a couple of others) for a quid each. Bargain.

Not the sort of thing the Forum Mods would have any idea about!

Extremely sorry. I was under the impression that they represented Golf Monthly and that asking that question in the GM official forum would be a reasonable place to ask. EXCLAMATION MARK....

Hacker, I wouldn't expect so but nothing in the t&c's state that the offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other. It is a genuine yet optimistic question. I will be subscribing regardless for my March birthday present to myself...it's a bargain.

Nope. We don't represent GM anymore than you do. All the mods were users the same as you but offered their services to help keep the forum running smoothly.

Mike is really easy to get in touch with regarding this sort of stuff if he doesn't reply here.

No need to apologise!

Asking in the Forum might be.

Asking the Mods - who don't actually represent GM - almost certainly not!

No need to apologise!

PM-ing/Email-ing any of the GM Contributors might get results, but if every subscriber did it....

Thanks.

I'm confused, when they're posting as GM forum mod's, who exactly are they representing?

Perhaps the mods would know exactly who to PM. The OP got ignored in his communication to the publisher. I know I don't.

That's exactly why I've asked a simple, optimistic question.

did you read my first post.

We don't represent anyone but help to keep the forum ticking over for nothing more than the easy life it gives ;)

email Mike as he doesn't do PM's his email address can be found on his profile.

on the englandgolf website GM sponsor link you can het 5 issues for £5 at start on subscription.
I also did the 3 for £3 with TG and GW to run alongside my GM subs, and had 3 z stars from each, its pretty competitive market for new subscribers.
