Calling all golfers in Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, Teeside, North Yorks, possibly East Cumbria. Need to know how many might be interested in playing in a qualifying event at South Shields to see whether we can run our own or need to combine with Yorks / S. Scotland. I can practically guarantee the course will be playable and in better condition than 90% of the local courses in March. Please vote if you're fairly sure you'd play, midweek, weekend or both.

It will have to be on a weekend to get more people into it. Best picking either links as it gets more people. Even dunstanburgh get good offers there on weekends

Doubt I'll get it play much opens/meets this year with new job havnt got a clue what I'm doing from one day to the next

Would have to be a weekend to get any kind of turn out.

Until date and venue are confirmed and posted, then nobody is gonna commit to something that doesn't yet exist

That's what I was thinking.

It's going to have to be a links course or a decent well draining inland course that still uses full green/tees.

So the likes of Seaton, Hartlepool, Goswick, Rockliffe, Cleveland Wynyard?

I'm not fussy which one but like I said earlier it would have to be a weekend and I'd prefer to pay a little bit more for a decent course.

I should be able to attend. Not too fussed on the location, though Rockliffe would be top of the list. Can normally get good offers at Slaley as well. Never paid more than £20 to play there.

Well Im currently out of action, injured, rotator cuff shoulder injury, so my golf interest isn't too great at the moment

But might be able to get decent deal at Goswick.....??
Me and Wayman are both members up there

But Wayman doesn't know where he is, from 1 week to the next with his new job

My offer was to organise an event at South Shields but since only 8 people have expressed even an interest in playing a qualifier there it looks like a more suitable venue is required. In that case I'll bow out and let someone else find somewhere more appropriate.

Now this is one of the reasons I joined this forum, I'll play and linksy sounds good to me, would love to get my own back at Seaton Carew if that is chosen but I'm up for anywhere really.

I am going to contact Seaton Carew and Wynyard tomorrow and see what deals I can get⛳️
