GM really do seem to be able to come up with great comps each time they try. Check out the new comps from the website ...

-Ping pro-am day again, and Centurion club.
-LET pro-am spot !

...plus that boring one from last week, something to do with the Open and Mercedes :smirk:

I am hoping to see some full bag fits.. Going thru an MOT and have realised the importance of being fitted... Even the minor tweaks from MOT is helping. Also played with some proper sticks from Cobra, and it was great. I hope they do a SLDR irons, which will let me continue to be in the TM camp...

The Ping pro-am looks v interesting. Did Ping do a fit for those who entered last year? I like such days but would like to compete properly. Homer tells me that I am too young for Ping though. :ears:

:sbox:i enter most of the comps, never had as a sniff of winning, but notice the same names on the podium time after time, and some winners who have never posted anything on the forum even though they are forum comps, rant over time for brecky.

There's been a heck of a lot of winners this year already!!

Does appearing in the mag e.g. Being mentioned on the forum page or 'meet the forum' or 'Ask the question' or 'been on twitter' etc.. put you in the blocked list??? I have been mentioned in the mag a couple of times but no amount of tossing my name in a comp hat is getting me a ticket.. hence the question

I am sure Mike has explained several times that if you won the previous fitting comp then you are not going to get chosen for the next few. But I am sure a previous mention on the forum pages does not exclude you from winning anything.

I used to 'swing and miss' a lot, but got picked for the New Golf Thinking day, so I'd say just keep trying. They are looking for certain types for most comps I think, so you'll probably luck out eventually. Either that or make up a new persona to enter comps. ;)

You've got to be in it to win it.

Also, to my mind, a comp that is only in the mag and has nowt to do with the Forum is fair game for everyone to enter.
I have to say I usually have a scatter gun approach to comps, you do eventually get a few that hit :)

In particular the ones where there is a no fitting seem to be more fair game .. and for me I generally have to find the ones that fit with term time at the school I work at :(

They say that "you've got to be in it to win it" and that certainly worked for me with the Kings of Distance day.

I even got to meet imurg!

I was scatter gun too.. but then I realised that it is like playing in the wind... a bad shot will go straight OOB while a good shot will go no where  So I might get picked for tee fitting and then get blocked for some other fab opportunity. So I have gone a bit selective. So while like I wud love the Ping ProAm or Merc ones, I think i need to sort out my sticks or mental side first..

I entered this one last year as it seemed like a great opportunity but as with the one for the Open I'll be working the whole of July so can't make either of them. Gutted.
