When having my first lesson, I was told to always remove my glove for putting, because it is meant to give a more balanced feel. I did this for a while until I noticed nearly all the golfers at my club don't bother. I then started to put with it on, and actually found my putting improved. I believe the different feel of taking the golf glove off may have hindered me. I am sure that the answer to the question is, do what suits you, but I just wondered what others do ?

On another point, why are most golf gloves white, when this is surely the most impractical colour ?

I have tried both on and off. Personally, I feel more comfortable with it on. Im new to the new game so I dont know if that will change as I improve.

I don't notice much of a difference when putting, to be honest. I sometimes take the glove off, just because it is a nice feeling to get rid of it for a while, especially when it is hot in summer. But I never get the feeling that it gives me more feel for the putt. I practice putting without a glove though, in contrast to my mum who always puts a glove on, even if she just practices on the putting mat or the putting green. She says she feels she has better grip and therefore better control that way.

Excellent question. I bought a brown leather glove a while back and everyone told me it was an old man's color and ugly. I don't care. It sure does not get dirty and ugly looking as fast as the white ones do.

I normally practise putting without a glove, so tend to take my glove off when putting out on the course, to get the same feeling. Not sure that it's totally necessary to take your glove(s) off for putting, and I often leave my left hand glove on for putting during the Winter.

Makes no difference whatsoever imho.
I stopped wearing gloves at all a while ago. Can't tell the difference, even with driver.

I putt without a glove as I 'feel' as if I have a better feel of the club. But I use a glove for full shots as like the more secure grip.

Traditionally gloves are white as adding dye supposedly impacted the softness of the leather. I presume that manufacturing technology has move on as more colours are now avail on the market e.g Jonas Blixt uses a coloured glove

Glove off for me.

I take my glove off after every shot until I reach the green. It then stays off until the next tee.

Rinse and repeat for 18 holes :)

I'm another who doesn't think it makes any difference.

If I'm practising putting then I do so without a glove, on the course my glove stays on for the round unless it's hot and sticky, then I'll take it off as soon as I'm at the green and hang it on my golf bag to air.

Ordinarily I certainly can't be bothered with the faff of taking it off and putting it back on umpteen times during a round.

Keep my glove on for every shot including putting unless its a hot day in which case its nice to cool the hand down by taking it off

During summer I was always taking it off. But winter iv left it and I'm getting on quite well. So may well just leave it on in the summer and just take it off between the walks to the tee for a bit of fresh air

I m pretty sure the natural colour of the leather isn't white !!

I stopped wearing a glove 6 months ago. I used to wear one and never take it off all round. I tried putting without it or a while to try and lessen the golfers "One white hand, one tanned hand" in the summer.a my putting seemed to improve, but then my putting took a dip and was better with the glove on again. Purely psychological!
In the end after struggling with rubbish synthetic gloves stretching, I questioned what was the point of wearing one as my grip never slipped without a glove anyway.

My glove goes on as soon as I start warming up and doesn't come off again until after 18 holes.

Played some of my best rounds with a black glove, in fact I won H4H's with a black glove 😜🏌⛳️
