The Seniors had block booked the slots from 8.30 onwards for a 13 hole (why?) xmas comp and were then having lunch at a pub in Aylesbury rather than at the club????

Today was a rather nice day for playing golf here in sunny Herts. Rather windy, but not too cold and several hours of blue skies and bright sunshine. Course had dried out a bit after recent soakings. I scored 33 points and won a free cup of tea (sorry to stereotype seniors). How was it in your part of the country?

After 33 pints I would definitely fall over! I only had 31 putts today, which ain't bad for an old fella with the yips! However I putt using the claw grip, with which I don't have the yips.

Yesterday (Thursday) was rather horrid with strong wind, rain and rather cold. Our Seniors played their Turkey Trot. It was just nice to get inside the warm clubhouse after the round. Today was rather pleasant again; not much sunshine, but relatively warm with much lighter winds and no rain. Course was a bit wet again after overnight rain. I managed to score 38 points, which is about the best I have done all year. I holed 2 quite long birdie putts, but just missed lots of other much shorter ones. Hope I can keep this form going for the next qualifier!
Think I have being concentrating on the mechanics of the swing too much this year. I just tried to make a nice smooth balanced swing today and played very well. Of course it might have been just of those rare one-off days when everything clicks into place! :mmm:Want me to give CONGU a call and tell them to put a hold on those changes you wanted to the handicap system a few weeks ago?
