Anyone bought from the ebay seller global golf (US based) ?

Seen something I fancy but never bought from ebay abroad.

What are the pitfalls in terms of import taxes etc ?

Anything else I should know ?

I've bought from them before, first class kit. You'll have to pay import taxes though can't remember the % though.

i've used a number of times, very reliable.

however, you will have to pay VAT on the total item cost at 20%.

then on top you will have to pay an admin fee from Fed Ex for the shipping, which was £10.50 when i last used a few years ago.

as a guide, the item cost i bought was around £75, and I paid an extra £25 in tax and handling charges. I have the invoice in front of me which doesn't mention the actual shipping cost, but must have paid that as well on top.

so factor in an extra 20% tax plus at least a tenner.

VAT applies to goods and shipping. Some companies get very good shipping rates, e.g. $30-40 for a club or clubs. Then the handling charge is 8 - 13.50 on top. So a $300 club plus $40 shipping will cost around £48 in VAT plus around £12 handling for an extra £60.

I much much prefer shipping with UPS or FedEx rather than USPS to Parcelforce, which is slower than slow after it gets into the UK. And they charge more for (mis-)handling than FedEx or UPS.
