Was never the greatest GC fan but loved his best stuff. Heard a short obit for him on Radio 6 Music this morning - and the artists he's supported and done guitar on - just one almost endless list of legends and greats.

Then there is Jimmy Webb's Wichita Lineman. So few words - so much depth and emotion

I am a lineman for the county and I drive the main road
Searchin' in the sun for another overload
I hear you singin' in the wire, I can hear you through the whine
And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line

I know I need a small vacation but it don't look like rain
And if it snows that stretch down south won't ever stand the strain
And I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time
And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line

You know - when Shaun Keaveny played it this morning I admit to a wee tear coming to my eye...:(

Ach well.

And SK followed it up with Layla. And this morning I could not but think of that as anything other that one great guitar man's (Clapton) tribute to another now just passed from us.

I've always been quite a fan and always have his Greatest Hits in the car. The recent documentary about his demise was very sad. I felt very guilty as his new (and last) release came on the radio yesterday and I changed channels saying "they should have had something better as his last" :-(

By the time I get to Phoenix
Dreams of the Everyday Housewife
Gentle on my Mind

My top three. RIP.

Did pretty well for for an 'unfinished' song!

JW's songs just seemed to be the perfect foil for GC's style. Or should it be the other way around!

Great entertainer and apparently great person. Also did a lot for the hairspray industry too!

A bit of a sad, but fantastic vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6J99mWFqMU

RIP Glen
