Went to play a casual round today after a very poor outing during the week. 15 minute drive to club to find that there's a Texas Scramble on all day. Super.

Back home and off to the range.

Hitting it OK but as I found during my last range session and on the course during the week, my driver wasn't behaving well and distance was down a lot.

4 balls to go today and my driver head goes sailing 60 yards down the range. Snapped at the tip.

I doubt I have much comeback as it was a second hand purchase (gumtree). Just in case, I've sent Ping an email with the serial number to make sure it wasn't a fake. Doubtful.

I can see my bag of sticks (what's left of them) going back in the shed for a month. I thought things were looking up when my back healed up well before I expected it to, but now I'm :sbox::sbox::rant:

A chance to find out whether Ping Customer Service is all it's cracked to be! I wouldn't expect a free replacement, though if that happens then it's fabulous! A mate's I25 collapsed in the same place the other day. I'd expect that to be replaced for postage only (if that).

As for needmoreclub's advice....make sure you don't lose the keys!

Chin up mate! Not been a great week for you by a distance it seems, they do tend to happen that way don't they just. On the up side if your golf has improved and you love the driver head,it means you can upgrade your shaft . Let's hope a bit of good luck is around the corner for you.

Time for you to open the oldest bottle of malt you have and empty it. Things will get better just don't lose your head, oops too late
PS, hope to see you next week

Had a similar issue resolve by our pro last year. Didn't even buy it from him. Cost me p&p for the reshaft. Happened again a couple of months later and got it done again foc. Thumbsup ping

My project x shaft came away from the head a while ago, head flew over fence into out of bounds....finished round got a buggy and found it..sent back to calloway new shaft the lot done for nothing, was about 18 mouths old.great service.
