Have a works event there tomorrow and nobody in our team has ever been to the club, much less played it.

Is anyone here familiar with it who can let me know what it is like and offer any tips.

Is that just outside Cambridge? If so it's just 10 mins from my work. I'm planning on joining there in the near future (1-2 years) as wife and baby allow...

It's just 15 mins from my house too!

As my buddy Fundy says GB72 I am a member at Girton and it is a pleasant enough course.

It is a very flat but mature parkland course with good greens and is in pretty good shape at the moment. Its not long, so suits the more accurate player than the bomber.
Theres some tough par 4s and some short ones. There is no real outstanding holes and the course does lack a bit of the wow factor, but its 5 mins from me and reasonable value.
There are range balls £1 for 50 I think or take your own to warm up.

Let me know what you thought.

Have a good day

Work pretty close to there and been meaning to have a knock sometime. Give us a review when you get the chance.

Played there in the Cambridgeshire County Fourball a few weeks back.

Windiest day I've ever played golf on, 36 hole slog, didn't make 36 points in either round.

Despite the bad memories I cam away thinking that I'd like to play it again on a calm day. Greens were pretty good, some tight driving holes, and definitely more premium on accuracy than length.

Great sausage chips and gravy for lunch as well.

good to see you about mate, we must be overdue a game

It's not a bad course Greg, I played the Semi Final of Cambs Evening news there. It's not a long course and suited me, played in the winter and the greens were very slow. Would defo like to play it in the summer.

There were no 'Wow' holes but it was pleasant enough. Just plot your way around there and you'll be fine.

Really sounds like a course that will suit me, very keen to play here. Let me know how it goes GB72.

Btw did you contact Franco about Rutland county a week on Sat?
