Hey all,

just a quick question regarding the Galvins. I have the under armour leggings and top, what waterproofs would I need to only wear over the Under Armour so I'm not layered up?? But still keeping warm and more importantly dry?

In this weather and over winter, alf trousers are pretty good for warmth over normal trousers. Jacket-wise, the alex is one of the heavier-weight gg's, from memory. Waterproof-wise they're superb, but be warned; the tops are fairly fitted around the middle!

I have the Alf trousers and don't wear trousers underneath. If its mega cold then I'll chuck on the leggings. The jacket is pretty much the same, base layer and shirt is plenty.

Depends on how cold it is really, if it's proper cold with frost on the ground then Alf's with a pair of leggings underneath usually keeps me warm enough. If you aren't planning on playing when it's that cold then you could probably get away with a pair of paclites over the top of trousers.

Gore-tex is the best thing since sliced bread, bone dry and lifetime guarantee. I said I would never spend out on a pair of GG's but managed to pick up a brand new pair for almost half price on eBay earlier in the year...best investment I've ever made.

Any of the Gore Tex 2 layer jackets and trousers. The Gore Tex Paclite are for wearing over trousers and mid layer tops.

Tried on the new adidas Gore-Tex 2 layer range the other day and they are excellent too, they run a wee bit larger than the Galvin's.

Another one to consider is the new Nike Hyperadapt jacket & trousers
