Hi guys

Just wondering if any of you know how to get to the Ryder Cup?

All the tickets for the car parks were sold out before I got my tickets so I wont be able to use the park and ride system to get to the event. Just wondering does anyone know an alternative way of getting there?

Where are you travelling from? You could look and park near Newport train station and then get a shuttle bus from there for £10

just read that you can only purchase tickets for the shuttle service if you came on the train from London to Newport. You dont happen to know anything about this?

Thanks for evertyhing so far!

There is plenty of parking in Newport so best bet is to try and get a taxi in (probably easier said than done!)Have a good day. I am there for Thursday. Any ideas on best viewing points? I have been told the steep bank looking over 13 is ok?

Hi mate,

As you are coming from the Gloucester side you will need to get to the East park and ride at Llanwern and the shuttle bus from there is free when you show your ticket. You can only gain entry to the course from the park and rides or the Newport train station.

Aren't the park & rides sold out? I'm in the same boat as the OP. Oops. :o

According the Ryder Cup website you cannot use the bus from the railway station unless you have travelled by train. You can though use the park and ride bus without having to park at the site. So it seems to me you have two choices, catch the train to Newport or try and find a parking spot close to one of the park and rides. I would go for the former.

Played golf today with a mate of mine - flying in to the Ryder Cup every day from Bristol - 18 minutes by helicopter!

Lucky git! That said, rather him than me if the weather is as bad as predicted!!

Been today. The car in front paid the woman on the gate cash to get into the car parks,

The car parks are enormous !!!

Any more feedback on getting to the Ryder Cup?

I ended up ringing Newport Tourist Information and she said the best bet would be to park in town and get the bus out to the Park & Ride. Parking in the car park would be much easier though!
