With the great weather this weekend and the winter sports season winding down, I have opted to take my boys to the Junior Training Session at the golf club this morning instead of Hockey.

Both boys have been introduced to the game and have been to the range with me a few times. I don't want to coach them (those of you who have played with me will know why) and I don't want to push the into taking on the game. I've heard good things about the junior coaching at Spalding and I hope that the coach(es?) are able to help foster enjoyment. The eldest, Finlay (6), is dead keen but Oliver (5) is a bit undecided. I really hope they come away wanting to go back next week.

Might be a video or two of their efforts posted later.

Awesome, my older kids (4&6) both love the driving range and putting green, my lad is finally just trying to whack the ball as far as possible! and they love sinking putts, even from 2 inches!

Next step is the junior group sessions, now they will both listen to instructions! as long as they enjoy it, happy days! our club is very good, £5 for an hour group session inc balls, club hire if needed and tutoring.

My 12 year old daughter won't have it, she's too much into Irish Dancing and reading her books to care about golf lol.
Shame really as she's very athletic and good at sports, I reckon she'd make a decent golfer given the chance.

With 4 ankle biters you should be able to get a group discount or start your own academy.. :)
