Just a little comment on the latest issue...according to the article on Royal County Down, it's bounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Wrong! It's on the Irish Sea coast of County Down, miles away from the Atlantic. Perhaps the writer was thinking about Royal Portrush?

Btw, what a great name for a golf journalist - Neil Tappin. Is there a Jim Lagputt on the staff as well??

Muttleee, I live in Scotland, my wife's parents live in Wales. When it's time to pay the much dreaded in laws a visit my mrs talks about going 'up to Wales '- drives me insane. There is just now way that you can go up to Wales from Scotland. Why do women just not get stuff like that??

I know what you mean, birdieman. I wouldn't try to explain the offside rule to her either, if I were you. ;-)

Just thinking about other golfing names - or at least names of golfers who should play golf. How about Minnie Driver or Mr. T(ee)? Any advance?

I'm delighted to see that you are revelling in my golfing name. It's a gag I've heard a few times before.

I once played golf with a German guy called Ralph Putter - that put my name to shame.
