I'm looking at these as my shoe of choice once I've managed to shift the Ecco's as they seem to fit the bill (from looking at product details etc) in terms of looks, comfort and stability.

Can anyone else back this up or recommend another shoe that's not going to have my feet howling after 36 holes and aren't more than £80 quid.

Hi Aztecs.

The FJ contours are fine shoes - however my last pair didn't last as long as I'd hoped before needing a reapir. My pro exchanged them through FJ and I had a pair of the AQL's instead. These are a bit cheaper and equally as good IMO. Very comfortable straight from the box and TBH I wouldn't look at any thing else now in that price range.

Ultimately though your feet are your own and you need to try and see how they fit.

John.

The new AQL's and the new dryjoy tour both look really good. Think you can get the dryjoys tour for about £75.

Quite fancy a white pair for the summer, but then craw comes on talking about puma shoes (another to consider?)

Do you mean the ones with the posh screw-up steel laces?

Not necessarily, they do a "normal" lace shoe in the contour range too.

I just need a mid-price shoe that's going to be comfortable and last me a few years.

Good luck with that I have yet to find a pair of shoes that lasts more than a year.. :(

How long they last depends alot on how well you take care of them. I know that I am useless at taking care of my shoes (basically they just stay in the car) so no point in me spending a fortune on them. I tend to look at the end of season sales and pick up last year's models for about £30 then I do not mind if they only last a season.

I've had a couple of pairs of contours and love em. Really very comfortable. probably the only shoe I've ever taken striaght out the box and worn on the course without any rubbing or blistering.

My last pair lasted about 18 months, but that was with hell of a lot of use. 1-2 rounds per week during the winter in all sorts of weather and 2-3 rounds a week during the summer.

I only swapped them as they were looking a bit tired. No leaks, rips or anything. Onlything I ever done was swap the soft-spikes a couple of times.

:D

Having dug deeper, apparently the initial comfort doesn't last and at £100 are sadly out of my price range at the mo. Unless I can sell the Ecco's and my spare 3 wood in the next few days.

Aztec do you ever make any decisions on your own in life? :D

At dinner time do you send an email to everyone else in the office asking what you should get for lunch? :D

Oh, and have you told the Mrs she cant have the car Tuesday yet?????

It's good to get opinion on these things, is it not?

And yes, the car debacle is sorted.

I bought a pair of Adidas golf lite 3.0 in Direct Golf a month or two back. I've worn them about 5 times since and they have fit like a glove from day one. Currently they have a May Madness sale on and they are on offer for £39.99.

I've got the ones with the dial on. I think they are a great idea much easier than laces, you just twist the dial to tighten and away you go.

I have two pairs of dryjoys white and black, but the black have had it a bit so these were to replace them.

Ok. In a complete change of heart, I've now settled on these bad boys:

I was looking for a more "traditional" looking golf shoe, but this gives the best of both worlds and all the reviews I've read are that they are comfort personified. So I can sacrifice the traditional looks slightly if it means my feet aren't going to hate me after 36 holes.

And SD are doing them for £75 posted which seems more than reasonable to me!

Plus the Lime Green accent is bitchin' :D
