GEL Putters - Anyone used one?

Same here mate. 20 squid is nothing all things considering.

The blue is a bit......mmmmmm

The steel finish looks lovely

I don't need one but damn tempted at 20quid. Heavy head sounds good.

Forwarded to a mate who is putter shopping. He will be happy to grab a bargain.

Took a punt on the Topaz mallet style. Cheers for the heads up on that one. Can't grumble for £20.

Not sure these were English, but I believe they were distributed in the UK by my cousins company Assay Golf.
I'm 99.9% sure he is no longer doing this.

I got my GEL Topaz through this morning at work. Opened it up to reveal the hideous Direct Golf head cover for it. The putter looks like it came right out of Sports Direct. Nice weight to it, but for £20 it's not too bad. Nasty graphics on the sole but I think I'll be replacing the headcover. I think I'd be a bit ragin if I'd had paid the full price for it to be honest.

Grip - Red & black like the graphics
Head - black finish like the new vokey wedges, with the yellow and blue logo on the sole.
Shaft - No markings on the shaft at all, just plain.

Putter face is just plain with the blue inset, a logo and twisted arrow but not coloured in. Just pressed into the metal.

Overall it looks alright for £20 and if it feels better than my current one it's a bonus.

Mine arrived yesterday.

As cheap looking as you described above (well grip, headcover and shat)

Head looks good quality.

And a nice pitted rusty shaft as well.......

Will be ringing direct golf today. Ok, 20 quid is 20 quid. But I'm not HP with having a rusty shaft.

Aside from the rust, that obviously shouldn't be there. What markings would you like on a shaft?

To be honest none really. Im just a wee bit (only a wee bit) peeved about the rust patches.

Saying that, i would have preferred:D not to have a "made in China" sticker attatched to the shaft. maybe im a snob, but it does cheapen my new putter.

Saying that

it was only £20.....

Sorry to resurect an old post, but I have also just received a diamond gel putter with some signs of pitting on the shaft. Removed most of the corrosion product with oxalic acid but the pits remain. I emailed Directgolf. I was wondering what did you do with the correded shaft? did they replace it or did you just leave it as as you say its only £20

I never bothered in the end pal

I just gave the putter to a work mate that is starting out in the game.
