Had my yardages gapped today at silvemere with my new sticks. Me and fripnchips guessed what my Carry would be with each club and to be fair I wish I could it as far as fripnchips thinks I do. My guesses were all within a couple of yards, guessed pw was 124 and turned out to be 119 average. Guessed my 7 iron at 155 and it turned out to be 155 carry.
Have a look at the pic and see what you think. I'm happy with the whole process.

Can't upload a better pic as I can't convert PDF to well what ever it needs to be. So
4i: ss 90mph carry: 182yds
5i: ss 88mph carry: 174yds
6i: ss 85mph carry: 167yds
7i: ss 82mph carry: 155yds
8i: ss 78mph carry: 143yds
9i: ss 73mph carry: 131yds
Pw:ss 69mph carry: 119yds
Sw:ss 66mph carry: 96yds
Lw:ss 60mph carry: 81yds

15 yard gap LW to SW, 23 yard gap SW to PW compared to 8 yard gap 4i to 5i and 7 yard gap 5i to 6i.

Personally would want much smaller gaps at the scoring end of the bag (and I expect a club between PW and SW) and to increase the gaps at the top end.

Very consistent gaps through the middle of the bag (6i to PW all 12 yard gaps which is great!)

Thanks.
Yeah the Lw and sw are old clubs but I asked him can we check the yardage for now whilst I'm still using them. It was meant to only be the clubs I ordered off them pw-4. I'm going to be getting fitted soon for new wedges to fit in nicely from my pw. Got to admit wasn't hitting the 4 iron great as I was getting a bit tired by then as we started with wedges first. Will be checking them again n a couple of months as I get better with them. On course I can carry the 4 nearly 200yds and the 5 over 180 when struck proper but from them distances I'd be happy with just hitting the green anywhere. As you say it's the scoring clubs that need dialing in at least I now have the confidence. He did say that he was aiming for 12 yard gaps between each club which I was achieving till I started sweating and gasping for air hahaha

Looking to do this shortly with my current setup. Finally done tweaking my bag so really want to get yardages nailed down. Congrats on getting yours done

A range not to far from me hire out flight scope for a fiver a hour. Been on about getting my yardages done this long time.

Looks like its worth a punt. Always think this machines give a little more yardage than what you hit on course distance wise. But could be wrong?

What are the facilities like over at Silvermere? I've played there once and not really used the range. Reason I ask is I'd like a checkup on all my clubs, see which of the 2 drivers I have is better (I think I know but would like to see the stats), see if my 18 month old irons are still ok with loft and lie, possibly try a new wedge or two... I really just need an hour on a trackman!

Facilities are great Duffer. You could knock a couple of those off the list in an hour with 100 balls for £8 - they'll have pretty much every mainstream wedge you could want in the shop to try, and 16 of the driving range bays have Flightscope installed so you can do your yardages and compare driver. It's not Trackman but I've found it very accurate when I pure one on the range vs the rare time I do it on the course. Well worth a visit.

Facilities are fantastic I think. Bit prices but if you get a privilege card you get discount on balls and new gear in the shop. They have everything and I mean nearly everything there and the staff are brilliant. I've found they don't try and big up certain clubs or manufacturers to try and get a sale. They encourage you to go on the range and try as many clubs as possible. I found my fitting experience to be great too and the after care too is reassuring. I find though that on course i hit my a little longer than what the gc2 was saying but on course I'm just trying to smack it as hard as I can instead of being smooth.

Did you find the yardages that you got from the GC2 gapping consistent to what the protracer/ipad things in the bays at Silvermere say? I'm suspicious the bays read short but then again its been a while since I've hit shots on a proper monitor.

I have a pic on my phone from a couple of weeks ago with a 7 iron and pro tracer says carry 151 and gc2 155. So yeah I'd say they are fairly close to each other within a couple of yards.
Were you hitting off grass or mats?
Off the mat in the fitting bays. Why do you ask, do you think there could be a difference off grass and mat distances.

I've found them to be pretty spot on (I only trust the carry distance). It's my local range so I'm there a few times a month, and would honestly say a well struck shot in normal conditions mirrors what I find on the course.
