Gary sets a challenge at 7.10 in this. Can anyone do it? I'm beat :o

I saw him do that challenge a few years back in a demo at the London Club and then he showed how to hit to a par 3 and got a great hole in one

I'm not saying it's easy but where Gary holds the 2 putters together is considerably further down the grip than where he gets the two guys to have a go. Still impressive for his age though.

That's why he first offers 5 grand, then goes to 10. I tried it where he was doing it with lighter putters and got nowhere.

Beat fair and square.

I'll come clean, I just don't like the bloke. Massive respect for his golfing achievements but he always strikes me as a chip on shoulder, little man syndrome, stereotypical arrogant South African.

He does remind me of this though, which is a plus point.

I do like him. Ive noticed that he uses quite a lot of the same stories in these kind of videos.

I suppose I start repeating myself after a few bevvies. :o I wouldn't call him arrogant. Certainly isn't shy.

Would have been a piece of cake if I did this in the mid 80's ! My fingers were stronger than iron due to all the single finger keyboard tapping playing Daley Thompsons decathlon or Hyper sports on the Commodore 64 ;)

I also don't really like him that much - something about him - doesn't have that same friendliness about him like Palmer and Jack.

I heard a story about him which totally soured my opinion of him from an Open Championship in the late 80s/early 90s.

Apparently he turned up for a practice round to discover he was on the sheet to go out with a couple of amateurs/ qualifiers. On hearing this he started creating a big fuss about it because playing with them was totally beneath him and he refused to play with them. On hearing the commotion, up steps one Seve Ballesteros to take Player's place with the amateurs/qualifiers. Seve = Legend, Player = XXXX.

Really don't like the guy and so sick of hearing about his 1000's of sit ups etc etc every day...

The Masters Par 3 always seems to reinforce my opinion of him as he never seems as relaxed and approachable as Jack and Arnold.

This^^
Whether it is just his way, but he seems aloof. Plus his constant self promotion gets right up my nose. Would much rather listen to Arnie and Jack if we stick with that generation. I wonder if they played as a threeball regularly whether Jack (75) would still beat him (79) more often than not (Arnie (85) being that much older and suffering with his shoulder would not help his cause) despite Jack not preaching constantly about diet and fitness?
