Garmin Vivoactive

I've had mine for about a year or so now, very happy with it. The golf bit gives you shot distance, front back and middle distance to the green, and layup yardages. Also tracks how long you've been playing for and how many miles you've walked.

Can take a few minutes to find the gps location but just turn it on when you're sorting your clubs out. I found the yardages pretty much spot on too.

Also, you have to download the courses to the watch via the phone before you get to the course.

Love mine. Great activity tracker and smart watch in its own right. The golf settings are great. Very accurate and quick. I use mine for quick distance info. If I need distance to a hazard or pin I use my laser. Love it 👍

I got a free one from work. Haven't used it yet, read some reviews that as soon as the bluetooth dropped from range (e.g. when phone left in bag by side of green) you had to reload course info again? So if you wanted to use then you needed phone in pocket at all times?

Is this true? If not I'll get using it and move the TomTom on in the FS section.

THanks

You only need Bluetooth for notifications from you phone, texts, whatsapp etc. Once you have a GPS signal you're good to go. Only need bluetooth to view your round on your phone when you finish (the watch has abuilt in scorecard.)

Very happy with mine. Got it half-price on a Black Friday deal on Amazon. I find the distances for my course very accurate, and it's simple to use. The display is nice and simple, although it's missing distances to hazards, and you can't record putts separately to other shots. It also has a shot measuring feature, but I've not used it much so I don't know how(if!) it stores and displays these distances. I've not had any issues with the Bluetooth, and I always leave my phone in my bag. I also find it comfortable to wear, and I don't feel it interfering with my swing. I never used to wear a watch when playing, and I find it quite unobtrusive.

A very nice bit of kit.

Doesn't store the distances as far as I'm aware, just shows you far until you reset it.
