I'm on the verge of buying a Garmin S3 watch they are now about to release the S2. From the research I've done it is basically the S1 revamped with very little extras than the S1, it has no touchscreen or user pin placement like the S3. It also looks abit tacky in my opinion compared to the S1 and S3.

So am I right in thinking its probably just going to replace the S1 after a few of the problems the S1 has faced like condensation and such? I would hate to buy the S3 and it being the older model.

So am I right in my thoughts or have I missed something?

Here it is...

I reckon this is the extra feature you get -

As well as the yardages to the front, middle and back of the green the Approach S2 now lets you see distances to doglegs and lay up areas so you get the full overview of each hole and have all the information you need to manage the course the right way.

the s1 was front/middle/back only

So an upgraded S1 basically... Hence the name S2. It is a step back from the S3 though isn't it.

I have the s3 and for the extra forty quid reckon the touchscreen is well worth it, it has all the features of the s2 and once used a couple of times easy to find your way around the menu also like that it will detect what hole I'm on so if I forget to change it does it automatically the record your score feature is really easy to use and the watch itself very comfy...... Surprised there's only forty quid difference with S2 thought it would be priced more competitively!!

The S2 has more courses loaded than the S1. I love my S1 but will be out in dubai and many other countries golfing next year and my S1 won't have those courses available!
