So I've decided to treat myself to the new Garmin S4 watch... Probably don't need it, but fancy treating myself for Christmas.

the big question is...white or black? I normally wear white golf shoes and white belt, so white could match that quite well... But is it the end of white in golf (no white drivers at the mo coming out)? Should I go with the classic and less conspicuous black?

white shoes are fairly standard, white driver perfectly fine, white belt is a slippery slope, and a white watch...hello there fancy dan :)

:) If I look like a fancy Dan, maybe I'll start playing like one! If I decide on white and start playing like a pro I'll let you know.... Could be a great recommendation for your clients!

This is true, when I used to play Rugby there was always the occasional player who wore white boots and he was often the best on the field. Which came first though the boots or the skill? Always wanted to hit them harder than anyone else though but probably not a problem in golf.

Yeah! White will stick out more and make you look good. If you get the white, and your having a bad golfing day, they'll just notice the watch!!!!

Sounds like a plan! White is favourite at the moment... Despite not knowing the foggiest about cutting hair. I'll go with the advice of Dave3498’s wife... She sounds like she knows a thing or two about high fashion...

Selling my s3 (black) for £140

Cheers, though a mate works for Garmin and gets 30-40% discount, so going with new...

Any particular reason for selling, don't you get on with it?

I found using a watch you have to look at the pin and think " mmmm that looks about 10 yards off the front" .... So add 10 yards to your watches front of green range. However, i've started using my friends bushnell laser and it turns out my guess work using my watch was not so good. Sometimes as much as 15 yards out.

Good to know, I've never used a DMD before... Not sure how much I'll use the green view feature, but want something I can glance at rather than using a laser. Of course, even if it's no good I'll still look the business with a white watch...

Must admit, I do feel like a right tool standing there with a range finder. The best feature on your watch is the score card. No more pencils stabbing you in the leg
